As we were engaged on a whole week trip to Vatra Dornei, in the north-eastern part of Romania, we wanted to visit the monasteries from Bucovina, also known as the monasteries from the north-east of Moldaw, so we purchased a tour, and during a whole day, we got to visit Moldovita, Sucevita, the Cave of Daniil the Hermit, Putna and the grave of Stefan the Great, Gura Humorului and Voronet monasteries. We were very impressed by the wonderful landscape of the mountains covered in forests and by the small dimension of the monasteries, yet unique in their decorations of intricate Byzantine paintings. Bucovina is a land of small wonders, as one can feel the blessing of the skies married to the earth with each step, with each breath. The sun seems milder and the meadows, meek under its smile. A sensation of a surrounding kindness and peace gets under your skin as the days go by, and a question suddenly occurs: How is it possible to live under such stress and anxiety, when there are places like this?
