The Imperial Austrian Baths Palace |
The Imperial Baths where even the beloved Empress Sissy would come and spend a few weeks is now being under a sad spell of decay and ruin. Some of the hotels have been renovated, but it seems that the most precious architectural gems are lost forever. Maybe they will be rebuilt, but for now, no one can tell...
My personal impression is that there is no other place in the whole country with such huge touristic potential, left with premeditation in such an advanced state of degradation. Ironically, although almost collapsing, the neglected palaces and pavilions still keep a lot of their former beauty. And the legends are still alive - even with abandoned historic monuments, a millennial tradition so deeply rooted here cannot be forgotten.
